Driving a vehicle is inherently dangerous. There are countless hazards on the roads that can lead to car accidents and serious injuries. Unfortunately, Missouri drivers are subject to these dangers every time they travel in a car.
A motor vehicle accident occurred at 3:30 p.m. on a recent Friday afternoon in Ralls County. An 18-year-old female was driving northbound in a pickup truck and attempted to turn left, ending up in the path of an eastbound car operated by a 58-year-old woman. The two vehicles crashed about 10 miles outside of New London.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the woman in the car suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. The driver of the pickup truck suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital via ambulance. The Highway Patrol stated that neither driver was wearing a seat belt. The scene of the crash was also aided by the Ralls County Sheriff’s and Fire Departments.
It is a sad fact that car accidents occur daily on Missouri roadways. When someone is seriously injured in a car crash, it may be difficult for that person to continue life as it was before the accident. An injured party retains the right to file suit against another party to a collision whose negligence is deemed to have caused the accident and injuries that resulted. A successful claim could result in monetary compensation that could make a significant difference in the recovery process after being injured in a car accident.
